Our culture is telling a story about the overall purpose of marriage and family being our own personal happiness and fulfillment. 

Consider the results of that pursuit in western culture.

Our philosophy is that marriage and family are institutions of our creator that reflect the foundation of his original intent for all flourishing in culture and society.  Although these institutions are not manmade, they have many distinct human expressions, but if the foundation of these institutions get distorted, it affects all of life.  We believe our Creator established foundational principles which govern the affairs of man.

As it applies in our society, we have created a stark fact/value dichotomy.  When we think of creation, as Americans, we generally view it from a western mindset and we believe, because of our understanding of science that nature has a set of rules or laws that are true and objective and we accept these as fact.  On the other hand, when we think of religion or our belief systems, we consider those as personal values that we are free to determine which ones work best for us.

We generally accept that we can know the truth of life through our pursuits in science, which can lead us to the truth/facts about creation but we are extremely hesitant to say we can know the truth/facts about life when referencing things like social constructs or humanity itself.

Our goal is to pursue again what it looks like to remember that, our creator, still governs, through wisdom, over creation and has established creational norms.  For the family, these creational norms are both explicit and inexplicit, and carry the same amount of conviction toward what it means to obey our creator as gravity, the sun or the moon.
